1978 Pirelli Lancia Stratos Gr.4

Just finished. Just a "quick" build from the Racing 43 resin/metal kit. I add just few parts from the Hasegawa Stratos: front light lens and complete tailights (& surround), side fasteners are the Sakatsu metal kind and PE fasteners are Crazy Mod.

The only little experiment I done was a system wich I wondered about for ages to allow wheels to turn, in other word this resin kit has steering wheels: I ever lover car's pict with wheels turned, they're badass!

You'll see the small, quick WIP there:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=907243

Ok, completed picts:

I must admit friends: I started several but..... this is the first multimedia kit I finished... this sounds comic since I co-run the Scuderia... LOL

Great build, excellent livery, superb car

Just seems maybe a bit fuzzy on some of the window surrounds?

I think it looks fantastic. I love the Stratos and this livery is one of my favorites.

Re: 1978 Pirelli Lancia Stratos Gr.4

Thanks a lot guys, too gentle.

Yes Steve trims are not top class: after a good mask job I tried for the first time do do them by brush.... just to skip to wash the airbrush... the result wasn't crappy but not perfect: I fixed some spots with a toothpick but still far from be perfect: like says Veyron, there's a lesson in any kit

Another lesson I got from this lady is when you glue a PE, better place glue (I'm asshole so I used CA , but also with clear paint or white glue you'll do disasters) in the bigger part than in the PE: in fact I glued the PE... after a malefic rotation it got to stick in the polished paint.... in the wrong place..... I fixed but... another lesson!

Looks great, gio, inspite of some minor "faults" you listed it looks convincing.

Where did you get the hood fastener from (pre-last photo in the red circle?)

Superb looking car.

I like it very much. A real beast.
Also great work on the paintwork, with the semigloss / gloss finish.

Re: 1978 Pirelli Lancia Stratos Gr.4

Great Gio. Simply great. Do I understand it right or am I just overtired - did you combine a 1/43 and 1 /24-kit? If so, admiration from my side. Besides that - very nice work especially considering this scale.
Everything is superb and donīt worry about Klutzi going crazy about the window trim...He is showing off his eagle eyes again . He might be right - but then again...

Not exact Robert: it's 90% the 1/24 R43 Big Scale series Stratos with few additions from the Hasegawa kit and some PE

Re: 1978 Pirelli Lancia Stratos Gr.4

Yep, figured that one out, when I surfed your WIP-Thread once again - sometimes I just like to believe things that arenīt really there. And again -how could you combine a 1/43 and a 1/24 kit. This post truely wasnīt one of my strongest.
