Exclamation Air suspension question

Hi, does anyone know how long after the ignition is shut off will the air suspension pump run if needed, or will it only run when the car is on? Thanks

Re: Air suspension question

Hi,
Sometimes when my car towncar is just sitting there I hear the compressor start. It should only stay on until the correct height is obtained. If you notice it starting a lot then check for leaks.

Shut the air suspension switch off in the trunk, and jack up the car. Have a solution of soap and water in a spray bottle and spray the bag, usually it will be a leak at the lower part of the bag where it folds under itself. When you jack up the car it gets exposed and you can see cracks.

Hope this helps.

Steve

Re: Air suspension question

The Air pump shouldn't stay on for more than 10 seconds.

CAUTION- Turn off Air Suspenshion switch in trunk befor Jacking.

I just had an Air spring go out when I making a turn, the base broke and
came off the axle.

The Air-pump relay got stuck,so the air pressure must of been low.

Plastic + rubber will age with TIME,but that exhaust pipe on the drivers side
will radiate HEAT and age that bag quicker.
