does your speedometer move by itself?

Ok, on my 94 caprice, when in P and I rev it up high, the speed ometer will say 3MPh by itself..

It's the digital spedometer type.

Does your digital do this on your late model caprice or impala also?

Re: does your speedometer move by itself?

Strangly enough I've heard of that before with other owners of the "bubble" Caprice with the digital odometer. I know with the cable style speedometers like the one on all the boxy's that needle doesn't move unless the wheels move.

yes, AFAIK they all do it. my mothers 91 GMC Jimmy had the digital dash and when revved in park the speedo would go up

I wonder why they do that. I couldn't dig up any articles on them on the internet, but I'm sure there's gotta be something out there.
