Couple videos of a Mazdaspeed3

So me, MZR, and a few friends were cruising last night when we met up with a few other people we know. One has a Celica gt-s and one has a Speed3. We asked the guy with the MS3 if he wanted to run and he said sure, so I dicided to race him since MZR's intercooler pump was dead (fixed today so now he's boost happy). His car is stock and you all can see what i have. First we went from a 30 (his choice...crappy spot in 2nd for me) and we let off at about 120-125. After that we went from a dig and i bogged big time but still managed to uh....well just watch the vidsopcorn:

Both times the camera man started on the 3rd honk for some reason. Each car had a passenger.

Re: Couple videos of a Mazdaspeed3

I waited two seconds after they took off to floor it. I raced a Celica GTS behind them, and that was so horrible I wont even bother posting about how a masacred it. By about 100 I had made up the gap on the speed3 completely. Celica was a good 25 cars back (he gave up)

nice kills, his launch is crazy. Dump it in 2nd

Re: Couple videos of a Mazdaspeed3

Good kill. He needs to hurry up and intake it to make it a close race, and a stealth back to win it, lol. Good races though, and good kill. The Speed3 wouldn't happen to want to buy a midpipe, would he?

Re: Couple videos of a Mazdaspeed3

He probably would. He ordered his intake already, and im sure knows about the stealth back. We can ask him if we see him again

Why not give him credit for it being a good kill regardless of what was done to the Speed3? Not everyone has a daddy who will buy us a slow car and mods for said slow car. Deserved boost? Uh, with an intake he's still gonna be running the same boost. And when mine was stock, I didn't have much of a problem with running alot of modded cars. The RL was faster, end of story. It will be close, maybe the edge going to the Speed with an intake.

What type of dyno juice you get out there...that could be a hell of a close race.

Re: Couple videos of a Mazdaspeed3

The next track event is on the 17th but I don't think I can make it to that one because the track is 3 hours away.

Cassies, I should be putting down 250-260whp with my mods now...not sure because the only dyno here is really messed up and I would probably put down ~300-325 on it so I'm not even gonna waste my money for basically random numbers lol

Vip, c'mon now...I should be a solid mid-high 13 second car at ~104mph give or take lol.

I'm supposed to rave my buddy's ls1 maro soon. He has intake (we custom made it...it is rediculous, but it works!) and cat-back. My friend with just stage 2 with the 3.1 inch pulley was at his back bumper at about 105 from a 40 and I have a 2.9 with full exhaust so we will see how that goes.

How much torque? On Steve Kan's Mustang dyno, which is a heart breaker by Mustang Dyno standards (reads about 3-4% lower than the other already reading low Mustang Dynos), I put down 225 at the wheels with just an intake and a gash in my intercooler. I also had massive heat soak (inside a garage in lovely Texas 105 degree humid ass weather, no fan, no ice for the IC).

I think that you will win, but I personally think its gonna be a damned good race.
