Not getting vacuum from pcv after replacing

I have a 1998 Ford Windstar 3.8 engine. I am getting 171/174 codes. I started checking and found I wasn't getting any vacuum from the pcv. I replaced and I am still not getting any. I read about the "p" codes on here and it said to look for vacuum leaks. I thought with replacing this that this would take care of it. It didn't. Any ides where to check now?

I just responded to your other post about a hole in the vaccum line.......before reading this one.
This has me convinced that the hose that has a hole in it....IS the line to the PCV valve.
Mine got a small crack in it......on my '96 3.8L.

Replace the damage part......and you should be just fine.
I got a replacement from the "HELP" stuff at AutoZone.
Over time.....oil and heat....and age will soften the hose between the PCV valve and the upper intake manifold.
If any other section is extra soft....or has a hole in it.......cracked......etc....then I would replace it.

If the PCV valve sits loose in the rear valve cover (they moved the PCV valve to the front valve cover starting with the 1999 model year), then you can also buy a new grommet for the valve cover, that the PCV valve sits in.

The part that is shown in your picture is a hose with a 90 degree angle......which presses into a stiff plastic/nylon "pipe". If the stiff part has a hole/crack (unlikely....but anything can happen), then you will need to replace that.........or convert the whole length to a stiff hose.
I like the stiff hose that looks like a mini-heater hose in thickness.......which is what I got in the "HELP" stuff at AUTOZONE.
This should be an easy fix.......you might want to take that elbow hose into the store with you to correctly size it up.
The elbow on the breather on the front valve cover was the same diameter hose.

Sorry I thought I had replied to this. I wanted to update this as maybe my issue could help someone else. I did as Win had said and found the leak. It was from the one hose. I wen to the Ford dealer and they told me the part I needed for me to do the repair was a whole new vaccuum line kit, Kit cost me $23. I would have done what Wis had said with replacing line with stronger hose. I went to Autozone and the person told me at the counter that they didn't have the thickness of hose that I needed so I went with the vaccuum line kit. Thanks Wis, you saved me a lot of money if I had taken this to the garage to be fixed.
