Steve and Mike
Hey guys, I was told that there is a copper wire that is in the Evaporator that prevent ice from forming on the lines and in the evap. Is this true? I didn't notice it when I did mine a few months back. Thanks inadvance.
Bryan

Re: Steve and Mike
Hi Bryan..
I don't know what's inside an evaporator coil.. I can't imagine anything in there but like I said, I don't know. What's up? Are you having a freezing problem?

Re: Steve and Mike
Hey Steve, Sorry, I meant on the outside of the unit. I was told that there was a wire that wraps around the evap and when ice freezes up on it, it acts like a defroster and metls the ice.. Any ideas..

Re: Steve and Mike
I imagine that might work but I've never seen one like that..
Mike might have seen one.. he has more exposure to parts than me..

Re: Steve and Mike
I don't remember seeing anything like a heating coil on the evap core. I believe here is an expansion valve in there that has a copper wire looking thing. That is totally different than a heating element, I could see where some one might think that.
