A/C Evaporator
My wife went on a little trip this weekend (about two hours each way) and came home and told me that the passenger side floor was soaked. I immediately thought "evaporator" and I'm pretty sure I was right.
I put the car on ramps, and after searching for quite a while, I found the evaporator tube sticking out of the firewall. I took a little piece of clothes hanger, and stuck it in the tube and got myself a good soaking. Should have thought of that before laying on the concrete directly below the evaporator tube. :0
Anyway, I figured I would check to see if my repair was successful, so I went for a little drive with the A/C on (about a mile or so away) and came home and stopped in the driveway for a while. There was a little bit of condensate dripping from the tube, but it was RUNNING down a brake line or fuel line on the OPPOSITE side of the van. I noticed that it was doing this when my wife came home, too.
I can't figure this one out. Is it possible that condensate is coming out of the tube, and dripping onto this fuel/brake line and running over to the other side of the van?
Also, I've been having trouble with the EVAP VENT SOLENOID not being commanded properly during EVAP tests. Is it possible that the moisture in the dash could be contributing to this problem? The fuse for the vent solenoid is in the fuse box on the side of the dash. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but that really has me scratching my head, too.
