2006 Pontiac SV6 Power Sliding Door
Hello,
I have tried to properly reset my 2006 SV6 PSD with no luck. It definitely seems different than the 2000 vintage as I can't enter diagnostic modes, etc. Buttons: Button 1: upper console which has a lock out toggle switch in one direction and a open/close momentary in the other. Button 2: open/close on B pillar in front of PSD Button 3: open/close on remote key Symptoms: 1) I can open the door from any of the 3 buttons. It will open 3/4 of the way and start to beep. At that point, per the manual I should lock out the PSD via the upper console and open the door the rest of the way and then close the door fully. If I try again, approximately the same thing...repeat tries may indicate this "calibrates" the door. 2) If I repress the open/close switch when the PSD stops at the 3/4 position the door will open fully and the motor seems to torque out. If I repress after that, the door continues to try and open (even though it is fully open) and the motor torques out and a constant beeping (no code) is heard. 3) I've tried to reset the PSD by cycling Fuse 21 (passenger side) and it does get rid of the beeping but no change. 4) I've cleaned the connectors from door to B pillar. I also verified the driver information center properly indicates if the door is open/closed. 5) When locked, the PSD will try to open but fail with beeping (this is what it used to do, I think). The one difference is the beep is continuous. 6) I read a Haynes manual about adjusting the cable tension in an 2005 model but it doesn't look like the 2006 to me. Thanks and please advise. -Rich |

I also wanted to mention that the power locks work fine on the PSD as expected.

Re: 2006 Pontiac SV6 Power Sliding Door
check and see if anything is wrong with the bottom bearing. stuff gets wrapped around and under the roller bearing and strains the motor. lube and move the buttons as you lube them, that stick out of the front of the door the top one is the closed/ open sensor.i have heard of the motor getting out of sync with the door but usually this will cause the motor to break the cable. mine would beep when the door was closed and after lubing and pushing in and out on the buttons it straightend out .
