Re: 2000 towncar..brakes lights don't function
First, test the fuses with a meter or test lamp. 20A Fuse #10 & 20A Fuse #22.
We do this kind of diagnosis allot and many times the OP comes back with.. "thanks for the million suggestions, I finally tested that good fuse, it was bad" Next, verify the bulbs are actually working, yes they could all be blown. The High-mount (3rd brake light) bulbs need testing too. Here's the detailed, step by step diagnosis procedure: http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/view.php?id=704518&da=y EDIT: Sorry, I just noticed I hadn't made that link 'public'; it's fixed now. My Firefox doesn't like it, but IE does

While you are digging around back there I would check all the wiring to the lamps to ensure there are no brakes or frays.

Re: 2000 towncar..brakes lights don't function
All Brake lights are design in parallel and sharing 12volts.
If a light bulb go's bad replace ASAP,or the others will follow! Just like a head light when it go's out,the other will get brighter and burn premature. MCGIVER |
