2002 Avalanche odometer light and gear shift indicator lights are not turning off after the key is removed. Also, the battery indicator light in the message center remains on.

What mileage and engine and service history?
Any electrical stuff been worked on or added?
Make sure the ign switch is turning everything off.

His will stay out for days - he won't smack his dash though because he thinks there is a chance that odometer will not register the miles driven while it is out. I don't think this is the case but who knows? Anyway, if anybody else is having this problem and knows of any solutions (besides beating up the dash) please let us know. Thanks!

check light switch and panel and indicator dimmer had this happen at work before.
