high pitch wistle at high boost?

what could cause a high pitch kinda wistle noise on driver side of car? sounds like a boost leak but my boost gauge shows no leak. its not clutch slipping bc i dont smell clutch burning, could it maybe be the clutch hose with the check valve? or would that cause a clutch to slip?

Either your stock BOV is leaking, or if you have an open air intake, you may just be hearing the turbos spooling now.

Re: high pitch wistle at high boost?

Make sure your brake and clutch booster lines are put on the right way. A lot of people end up putting the clutch booster line on backwards and it will cause a high pitched noise when you get into boost above 7 psi or so.

Re: high pitch wistle at high boost?

well if the bov was leaking would my boost gauge show that or not necessarily. and my clutch hose is on the rite way ive never had it off, but ill check connection for tight fit, and its deff not bc of my intake bc ive had it on for a long while and i can hear the turbo noise but its not loud like this.

Re: high pitch wistle at high boost?

try this.. when driving your car get on in let it build boost and then touch the clutch pedle.. don't push it all the way in.. just like a little bit and see it the sound goes away..

Re: high pitch wistle at high boost?

the bov wouldn't show on the boost gauge. It just can't hold all the pressure, and makes a honking/whistle noise during hard acceleration/boost.

Re: high pitch wistle at high boost?

Get an intake pressure tester and you won't have to guess where the noise is coming from
