96 GLE/Front-end collison/Remote entry not working

A deer ran into the front of this car going about 45 mph. Damage was fixed by a body shop but they could not determine the cause of an electrical problem:

Keyless entry/Multi-Remote functions do not work
Bose loses station settings after igniton off
Power antenna does not work

The problem is likely related to the collision. Prior to the collision there was no problem. After the auto body did the repair they notified me of the poblem and that they could not find the cause.

Apparently there is a problem with constant power. Where/what could the problem be? Fuse #40 that supplies constant power to audio & antenna is OK.

Maybe there was a wire/connector pulled/broken in the shop ? This doesnt sound like frontal collision result...

Is voltage present always at this fuse? ...at radio mem +12Vsupply? My guess = no. Fuse can break and look ok. Swap with adjacent fuse and/or measure.

Rewire: take long jumper wire direct from battery and test. Check link page5, see below.

I found a Factory Service Manual for the Maxima. Section EL had some good info on the electrical system and I used it to try to determine the problem over the weekend. The problem was with fuse #40 but the problem was that the fuse was missing entirely. Previously, I looked in the fusebox and saw 40 stamped on the box. I saw a 7.5A fuse next to the stamped number and assumed it was #40. However, what I was looking at was not #40 but the 7.5A fuse on the other side (#26). I inserted a fuse and the items worked again.

Unfortunately, keyless entry still does not work entirely. I tried resetting the stored remote codes but that didn't help. I got the expected response during this procedure, the hazard warning flashed 2 times as expected after pressing the lock button on my remote during the ID code entry state. This confirms that my remote is transmitting and the control unit is responding. However, this procedure is done while the key is in the ignition and in ACC mode. Maybe there could still be a constant power problem. According to the FSM fuse #11, 37, 40, & 65 supply constant power. I think #65 is under the hood. I'm going to check them and then follow the diagnostic procedure for a non functioning multi-remote system as outlined in the FSM.
