Mazda FD3S RX-7 Mazdaspeed GT-Concept

This is my new project.

The Mazda FD3S RX-7 Mazdaspeed GT-Concept from Aoshima.

inside the kit:

I'll use the original Mazdaspeek MS-01 MAG wheels, but don't know what colour the will be painted. (thinking about silver or black)

The body will be painted Bright Red.

This car will also get an aluminium N1 exhaust and maybe some cf.

Kris.

Re: Mazda FD3S RX-7 Mazdaspeed GT-Concept

Yesterday morning I painted the body.

Last night I added the decals on it, and added a few little decals extra.

I srewed up one of the GT-c decals, so I added the left over decal on the hood. I like it infact

I also painted the wheels black and added the Mag-01 decals on it.

Re: Mazda FD3S RX-7 Mazdaspeed GT-Concept

For some reason I like the silver better.
these would benefit from a little mod on the side body kit. the edges are just a bit thick.
These are in the summer sale kits at my local Hobby Lobbys. I may just have to get some....

TS-49 is fairly opaque compared to some of their other colors like TS-8...but it's still best to spray it over white primer or over red plastic, otherwise you will not get the full brightness/vibrancy of the color.

Or it could just be the lighting of the pictures.

I dunno...TS 49 seemed to me to be a bit weak on pigment, especially compared with Testors Italian Red which covers so much better than Tamiya sprays.

Even so, always best to shoot reds and yellows over a white (primer) base coat.

Looking good, the only thing i got to say is the sideskirts look weird. Ecspecially the front of the skirts, seems like the front of the skirts are too wide compared to the pic of the box. To me they look awful, not anything you did, just the way they come from the box. Keep us posted.

I also clearcoated this body and did some work on the chassis.

It's almost ready for polishing.

Re: Mazda FD3S RX-7 Mazdaspeed GT-Concept

After polishing the body, I added the windows and some details on the body. Like windowtrims and painted the lights and stuff.

I also used for the first time, a gundam marker 0.4mm for the panellines, and I think it looks good now.

I also finished the interior. Ik kept it basic, with some flat black and gunmetal and some grey interiorflocking. I also used Sparco PE pedals.

I only have to add the lightglasses and some other small parts to finish it.
