GMC sonoma clicking

i have a gmc sonom 4wd 1998 v6 4.3 liter, theres a clicking noise sounds like coming from drivers side underneath kinda by the wheel and drive shaft..It only makes the noise when i accelerate..if im going steady its fine and rev up in neutral its fine...Can anyone help? thanks i dont have much knowledge about cars..and am low on cash and cant take in in thanks

I would suspect it is a faulty drive axle shaft in that front corner. Is it any different if you have the 4x4 engaged or not? A faulty shaft will likely make more noise if under load (4x4 engaged)
