Ok so i have a 4 speed tranny that means that it starts in 1st then shifts to 2nd then shifts to third then shifts to 4th. is 4th and Torque Converter lockup the same thing? cause if it is then my car is shifting fine but doesn't lock up the Torque Converter. my last car had a 3 speed and it shift 3 times (3rd and TC lockup must have been the same.)
Sorry just wondering, Mike 1994 Grand Prix SE 3100 Last edited by Godofwarmike; 07-17-2008 at 06:44 PM. |

Re: Real Quick Question
It would help to post what year and model Grand Prix. On 4 speed autotransaxles TCC lock up and 4th gear are not the same although lockup occurs in 4th gear - OD. It should shift to 4th gear first and then at a certain speed you should see TCC lockup.
Note: On some occasions it may occur at nearly the same time depending on driving conditions and engine parameters.
