First Used Car Buying Advice Urgent!!!

Hello, I am new to this forum and found a lot of information here.
I am looking to buy a used car and have tight budget. I can stretch it upto $6000 but would like to be under that.

My buying decision is purely based on the budget that I have but I am also looking for a car that is Reliable, has low maintenance cost and gives me good MPG.

So far I have found

1999 Audi A4 - $5400 - 133,000 miles
2002 Hyndai Santa fe $5900 - 120,000 miles
2000 Acura Tl 3.2 $5900 - 168,894

And a few Honda Civic and Toyota camrys

I really like the Audi its a good price and looks really good on the inside and outside, but I am now scared to but it becuase I have heard a lot of people complaining about how expensive it is to maintain the car and how often one has to take it to the repair shop. The dealer where i saw the audi and I called them told me that its the managers daughters car.

The santa fe also is also for a good price but don't know much about its gas milage.

Honda and Toyota that i found are really 96,97,98 some 2000 models but I don't like the way they look and also has less appeal than the Audi A4 interiors.

I don't know what to do, I am a student and I will need to buy this car from PA, DE or NJ and then I am going to drive it to South Dakota where I will be going to school.

So please give me your expert inputs as I need to buy it before the end of this month.

Thank you for reading.

Re: First Used Car Buying Advice Urgent!!!

Since your on a tight budget, i would completely steer clear the audi Maintenance and parts would be considerably expensive. I would stay in the realm of Honda/Toyota. Late 90s maybe early 00 model shouldn't be too expensive. A civic/corolla would be ideal or accord/camry if you'd like a larger car. 30+mpg and reliable, just keep up the maintenance and they should be fine. good luck

I would stay clear of those high mileage cars, for that amount of money you should be able to get something with less than 100 000 miles
