Smile timing belt

I'm still working on the 93 Metro and am ready to install the new timing belt. The cam gear notch is easy to see but I'm not sure where to align the crank pulley. The dot on the pulley is pointing up but I can't figure out what to align it with. Also I need to know which 2 terminals of the plug to short out to check the ignition timing. I have the plug that is on the firewall. Thanks

Re: timing belt

It threw me off a bit too when I did mine. You should line it up with the lower bolt that the tensioner spring attaches to. Check out this photo:

Sorry for the giant photo (My first time)

Re: timing belt

Thanks for the quick reply...that's where mine is pointing to right now, I just didn't want to put it back together until I was sure.

Re: timing belt

I accidentally deleted the pic but put it back up just in case you or anyone needs to see it. You're welcome...
