Intermittent problem with Lumina97

sometimes the car demonstrates the following behavior:

- the engine cranks and starts but almost immediately stops.
- if one waits for 10-20 seconds and starts it again, it does the same.
- if one "helps" a little bit by playing the gas pedal, one can catch the working mode and in a minute the car will
be running as if nothing happened.
- if one attempts to start it again after 20-30 minutes drive it will start flawlessly.

The "check engine" light is OFF and there are no codes
stored in PCM memory.
The idle air control (IAC) valve has 60 Ohms resistance between AB and CD connectors as required by the manual.
The resistance of the intake air temperature sensor is 600 Ohm (I didn't find the specifications but the value seems to be reasonable). Plus, I repeat, there are no codes in the memory.
I didn't check the fuel pump and the fuel filter yet.

Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance

Re: Intermittent problem with Lumina97

OK, the problem is solved. I've got a useful advice on another Chevy forum. It was recommended to clean the
IAC valve - it's pretty easy to do, one needs a torx screwdriver, some cleaning agent (I used canned brake cleaner), wipes, WD40 to lubricate the whole system after
cleaning and 15 minutes of free time.

After I did it the problem disappeared. The car starts like it used to do and the idling is smooth.
