dash light fuse?

To make a long story short. I had alot of stuff to get done before me and my buddies went to the beach, the one thing a needed to get done was to have my cigarette lighter 12v oulet changed, it was dead and I needed it for my gps. My friend offered to do it while I got other stuff done. I get back home all is good (10am) all done put together outlet works great, Leave at 3pm starting getting dark so I put my lights on an lights work, but the dash lights aren't going on... but the ring around the cigarette outlett lights up (no nobs or gauged are lighting up) I took it apart the next day to see what he did and was stupid... The outlet I got was for chryslers came with the ring around it to light up etc. But It has one black wire coming out of the light bulb where the stock had a black/yellow strip and a green wire. He connected the black/yellow strip to the green coming from the car (he cut the stock bulb off) and connected them both to the black wire (coming from the new bulb), which i believe the black should have connected to the black and leave the green hang...My guess is he blew a fuse? I looked today found the "gauge fuse" and it was still good, but i believe thats just for the gauge not for the light.s My question here is where is the dashboard light fuse? Cannot seem to find it in the fusebox in the car and under the hood... Sorry to make this a long story wanted to give details to make sure Im going in the right direction

Re: dash light fuse?

Were you able to find a solution?
I have a 2002 Sebring (it's called Cirrus LXi here) and have the same problem, except that the dash light stopped working one day without any probable cause.
The dealer told me that the light is embedded in the dash unit so they needed weeks to repair it and probably at a high cost.

I found this, but haven't tried:
