Please use punctuation (as you agreed to when registering on this forum) so we can tell where one thought ends and the next begins.

Verify the battery cables are clean and tight. Since you took the battery out and it worked fine for a few times, a loose connection seems like a high possibility.

Also, if you have worn brushes or contacts within the starter motor, it could cause your symptoms. The act of removing your starter may have jostled the brushes enough to make contact during the test and upon reinstallation.

When the car won't start, does the "Theft" or "Security" light on the instrument cluster light or flash? What happens if you shift the car to neutral and try starting it?

Rod I tried the neutral idea didn't work .
The car started first try this morning got it home and wouldn't start again.
The theft light flashes.
About 8 months ago had the wiring going to the starter change as the old starter and wiring caught on fire.
I do belive this car wants to be the next cristine lol

Re: 2003 taurus wont turn over

Thank you, that was much easier to read.

Since you mention the Theft light flashes when the car won't start, it sounds like the PATS (or SecuriLock) system is not recognizing the key for some reason and preventing the car from starting. Do you have another key for the car that you can try? Unfortunately I think you're going to have to look for an intermittent connection in the wiring from the ignition key cylinder switch to the PATS module.

You could also have the PATS system scanned for diagnostic codes to see if it didn't recognize the key or if there was some other issue being recorded by the PATS system. This will be a code specific to the PATS system though and will most likely not show up with a consumer-grade OBD-II scan tool. It will require a professional scan tool with the appropriate Ford anti-theft software.
