ok, you guys, I lost the dam race, we ran for two miles and let me tell you that I dont understand all this hype about the Viper smoking me. He was just about a car length away and I could see him grabbing the steering wheel with both hands and just looking in his rear view mirror. supposedly he was almost 100 hp more but I was not empressed by the Vipers porformance, I thought I would not even see him at all. I think my z06 did a fantastic race considering we were less hp, so this tells me my z06 will be my z06 for a good time to come. I am just about finished with the pics guys!! you will love them, you can see the start, the in between and the finish with him only a car length away, you will see pics from the tach, speed. anyway, it was fun and i am not disappointed....See yaa

Vipers are low tech. Takes alot of cash to make them just slightly faster.

Its a torque monster though and the only way he is gonna be able to make use of all that power is at a track with slicks or ET streets.

That's cool, we can't win them all, let him try that if you go ahead and throw 2 Lingenfelter TT's on that biatch and he'll be eatin exhaust fumes.

Good luck with the car though, I think it's better than a Viper, I love the Z06 Vette (Lingenfelter TT w/convertible/black) that is my dream car.

Author .. i'm with you so peae read carefully.. i've taken out alot of Z06 of course my cars are designed ..and i have the money to do s.. you fail to mention what year the early Viper were only in the low 13'sthen the mid 90 were inthe mid 12's and finally in 98-99 they were in the low 12's.. putting you car smack dab in the pack.. was it a new viper..

you raced for 2 miles and he onlyhad one car ..maybe since your Z06 isn'tgeared for top end.. you think he was just staing ahead of you.. the Viper is potent car .. and pussy per dollar value blow the vette awa.. your Zo6 to a chick looks like a c5.. the convertable c5 is more of a babe magnet. was it a Gts? did it have a top.. hard or soft..

i love vettes.. the c5 was too watered down for my tastes my grand port get far more attention and has the balls to back it up

your Z06 is a totally awesome car drove seveal at Gm proving grounds..

Though you havet o consider the Viper fomhead o stern is hand built.. so the cost is for that.. and its big ass engine.. can easily for 1k installed be set up for aa 300 shot direst port system.. i've seen he...and they don't have much trouble with anything after that

my problem with your story is the Viper "definitely has a higher top end and would have walked you once your acceleration stopped to a crawl.. so you might tink that he was just keeping ahead of you to justify his win and not abuse his motor.. jmo

unless it was a 92 or 93 then maybe it was fully wide open with an open topped car.. that hurts top end severly

Author i plugged in some number for corvettte top speed seeing as the viper has the same FD.. drag force it would require 490hp at the flywheel to achieve 190 mph your Zo6 should falling around 180 at best mathematically

unless gm is lying to us again..lol sure the Ls1 makes 345 hp my stock firehawk dynoed at 321.1 that come to approx 380 flywheel hp .. and the Zo6 somehow i think 405 is a low ball too

Like the Lt4 Grand sport.. theride is rough but on a smooth hwy its great and no way is the Lt4 anywhere near its 330hp rating.. it stroked out now but in its early days alot of c5 owners got the tail end view

yu have a nice variation of cars.. i had a 93 Zr1.. imade a dumb mistake and traded it for a kit Ac Cobra .. yeah it was fast and cool.. but it was so loud and unbearable for a passenger.. i didn't need a full race car.. i wanted class.. ithoughi was getting into a viper situation that i could handle repairs easily with a 351 windsor motor.. but the car was to much it was only good to park and look at fr the most part.. or kill some hotshot in the 1/4 mile with his 911 TT.. it was a barbarian
