tranny gears in a 1991 civic hatch dx

ok this is my friends car and i'm supposed to race him soon and his is a stick shift and i have an auto 4 banger mustang and i know already my car has about 600lbs disadvantage to his adn he has a cold air intake and flowmaster cat back and i know stock he had 92hp and 89lb/ft and i have stock 105hp and 135lb/ft but i've done a few simple mods that might bump me to 110+hp and 140+torque plus i am almost sure my tranny has more gears.

i just need to know what his tranny gearing is to see if it's even worth trying right now.

you wanna know his gear ratio's for the DX?

if they were as slow as my DX ratio's in my slushbox crx, then you should win the race with your mustang.

Auto 4 Cylinder Mustang vs. Manual Civic DX?

I would have to go Civic all the way. The Mustang is heavy and any Mustang except the V8 is slooowwww anyway, so with only a 4 and 600lbs more I don't see the Mustang pulling away. If the guy in the Civic can drive worth a crap then the high geared DX should still be able to pull away.

i know but...

ok i really don't care about that, i just wanted the gearing for his 4 speed. his rear ratio is 3.88 i think if i got a correct link for the tranny gearing but it said his car had a 5 speed. at any rate my stang is modifyed a little and prolly has more power added to it than his car does. the rear in mine is a 3.73 but i really could care less who will win right now i just want the gearing.

If it is a DX he has a 5 speed....if it is an STD he has 4.

I dunno about the gear ratio but the 1/4 mile time for a stock STD is probly in the 18-19 sec. range

anyone wanna second this opinion of 18-19sec 1/4mile time for a stock 4 speed hatch 91 civic? and how much power do you think a CAI and cat back flowmaster will produce on this car?

I'd also like to know the final ratio and full gear ratios for the STD 4 spd model.

yea the link to a site i found has the gears but not for the std model.

stock civic like my friend has is :
92hp
89 lb/ft

he has a flowmaster cat back and CAI but i am not sure if his exhaust is mandrel bends or crushed.

i did some calculations based on weight and hp and it seems liek he will be about a second faster, but that's with him runnign about 110hp and me running about 115hp. although on the forum i posted on one of the guru's there said that both my friend and i prolly only gained about 5 hp.

basically i want GEAR RATIOS for the civic!!!

Good times, me and a friend did my familys old 91 Ford Bronco, and that shit took like 13 seconds just to hit 60 mph, so we figured the 1/4 must be pretty embarrasing.
