Do I need a special tool??

I have to replace the passenger side half-shaft on my '02 Venture. I've read that I need a special "axle puller" to remove the shaft from the transaxle. I thought it would just pull out. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Len

Re: Do I need a special tool??

You don't NEED the tool, but it can make it slightly easier. You can use a prybar to release the shaft from the lock ring. By the way, autozone and any other place that rents tools should have the slide hammer adapter for you to borrow, but like I said, it is not necessary.
