2004 lesabre ticking upon acceleration
Hello all,
I own a 2004 Buick LeSabre with 36K miles. I've recently noticed a "ticking sound" only when I accelerate at slow speeds. I can hear it with the window down, especially when I drive through alleys and it echoes off the walls. I've had this checked out by an exhaust shop, and it isn't an exhaust leak. Took it to a engine specialist, he couldn't figure it out either. I'm starting to go crazy...I can't stand this annoying sound, but no one seems to be able to figure out what is wrong.... Any ideas??? KJ |

Re: 2004 lesabre ticking upon acceleration
Does the ticking sound speed up and slow down with the speed of the car or is it constant?

Re: 2004 lesabre ticking upon acceleration
Try to isolate the source of the noise with a stethoscope? You can get one at a local parts store or a Harbour Frieght in your area if you don't have one.
If not from the engine, check for debris wedged within the tire tread or wheel.

Re: 2004 lesabre ticking upon acceleration
my 2000 does the same thing, and ive never worried about it. it kind of sounds like an exhuast leak, but i havent tried to trace it at all. would be neat to know what it is though since someone elses does it too
