Re: coolant temperture sensor
This is a link to a picture that I took of these sensors on my '96 3.8L
http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1350...11220610mdFuiN NOTE: I took this picture and used a diagram in alldatadiy that clearly showed the locations.....however, it has been pointed out that the diagram that I used may be wrong.... Trippletdaddy mentioned that the sensor for the temperature gauge in the dashboard has 1 wire....and the one for the PCM has more than 1 wire. Please go by that to determine which sensor is which.....and NOT the picture. However.....the picture will show you the location of these sensors. It is almost impossible to see these sensors with the big flex hose to the throttle body in place. YES.....posts from yesterday morning seem to have vanished..........

Re: coolant temperture sensor
To repost my original post in brief. The ECT has two wires to it, grey/red and light green/red. It should be either on top of the thermostat housing to the upper radiator hose or next to that in the intake manifold. I mentioned another sensor that is in the heater hose, but that is for the electronic temperature control unit, if you have one.
