96 abs problems

Everytime I apply the brakes the abs engages.Nothing shows on the message on the dash . Have checked the the pads and rotors all fine. Turning off the traction control makes no differance. All fuses are ok

Re: 96 abs problems

Go to an independent shop with an abs scanner ask for a price to get the codes and trouble shoot if you want to pay for this.
You can check all wires to the wheels and try to find anything broken in the harness.
If you need a new unit do a google search for a rebuilder. Check wiring to the unit. Double check fuses check a manual where they are located.
You can buy a cheap scanner but they only check codes.

I would check to make sure no wires are broken for sensors, check the toner ring to make sure it is not damaged in any way, amd also check the sensors on the wheels for corrision thus creating to much of a gap between toner ring and sensor causing your problem.

Go to the Online Service Manual and look up the abs system on your vehicle, it has instructions on how to remove sensors.

Good luck
