Wheel Bearing 2000 Protege

Wondering how to replace a wheel bearing on a 2000 Protege?

It depends on if you want to replace the front or rear bearings. The front are very difficult and I generally have to heat it with a torch then press it out using a hydrolic bottle jack and a sleeve that I made myself (I don't have the special tools recommended for the job). The rear are a lot easier. The only thing difficult is removing the hub. The trick is to loosen the brake or emergency brake cable (I forget which).

New information. The hub assembly for the front comes with a wheel bearing installed. It runs about $100 on line. It's not to bad to install.
