Wires cut coming out of passenger front wheel well and down...
While examining the (broken) strut spring on the passenger side, I noticed a pair of wires (wrapped in the typical blackplastic covering) coming out of a connector/plug on the inside of the wheelwell about 3/4 the way up on the back behind the strut.
The wire pair comes down, and is tucked into the hole where the tie rod pokes through the rubber liner of the well. Problem is, it ends a few inches after that, and appears to have been cut. What the hell is this cable for? Is it a sensor to the strut, or the ABS brakes, or what? And since its already cut, was it cut for a reason (bad sensor etc.)? Since its not hooked up and everything seems to be running, should I just leave it alone? I can't find a picture of this wire, but I can take a photo and post it next time I pull the front wheel. Anyone have an idea about this? |
