Re: 1998 saturn

Replace your ECTS. 14.50 at the dealer. Code should go away within a week.

Re: 1998 saturn

This code indicates that the upstream O2 sensor is reading a rich exhaust condition. This could simply be a defective O2 sensor or something else could be wrong. The easy one to check would be the air cleaner. Make sure it's not plugged. You could replace the upstream O2 sensor since it is something that should be replaced regularly. At any rate, we would only be guessing here as it takes advanced diagnostics skills and tools to pinpoint exactly what is wrong.

Disagree. I would say it can be replaced once every 100K if that. usually once a lifetime maybe twice.

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. This is used by the PCM to control many sub systems of the car including air fuel mixtures. When this sensor cracks (which yours is) the PCM makes the mixture rich, thus why your O2 sensor is detecting a rich mixture. Replace, reset the code with a scanner, diagnostic tool or remove the PCM B fuse fromt the underhood fuse box.

Re: 1998 saturn

Did you check the connector for corrosion? Is it the same code? How new are the spark plugs?

I guess if neither is the issue then changing the O2 sensor in the manifold may be needed. However i dont really think thats the issue
