STS high mileage
anybody know about how many miles an sts with 4.9 northstar will ast if well maintained? i'm looking at a 1992 that has a lot of miles but the body is perfect and i want to make sure i don't have to put a bunch of money into the engine right after i buy it.

Hi,
The Northstar motor was not put in the STS until 1993 which is a 4.6 with 300 HP. The 1992 has the same body style from 92-97, but the 92 came with a 4.9 @ 200HP. even though it was not a Northstar engine, it is a stron durable motor. I have seen well maintained NS motors with well over 250,000 miles on it, and still going strong
