ok heres my problem, i have a 96 ford contour 4cyl. auto. 105,000miles...... besides that my car constantly dies out on me. if i ever take my foot of the gas pedal it sputters alittle then stalls, happens going down hills, off ramps, whever i dont need to speed up. i slap it in neutral and start it up again but within mins sometimes seconds its stalls again. from what the previous owner told me that it overheated alittle now n then. id like to know if it did now but the temp gauage dosent work either. replaced thermostat and always check oil, etc, etc. just the basic stuff but my main problem for the moment is the constant stalling.. any help at all is welcomed

Re: 96 ford contour problems
You probably have an intake leak.

Re: 96 ford contour problems
i agree with loaded, check your whole intake system for loose hoses or cracks etc. you can also do this by spraying down the whole intake with throttle cleaner while the engine is idling if the rough idol quits while you spray it youve found your leak.
