ANZO Projector Headlight Help (2004 Civic Si)
Greetings and Salutations one and all.
I am the proud owner of a 2004 Honda Civic Si 3 door. I recently purchased a ANZO Projector Headlight kit (P/N #121057 http://anzousa.com/mmproducts/headli...da/121057.html) Now as you can see these headlights are very nice, projector, halo rings, and according to the website a "plug and play" fit. However this has not been the case. I just spent the last 8 hours discovering that the electrical harness from ANZO does not fit the OEM harness (not even close) and the turn signal socket also does not fit the ANZO unit as well. Has anyone else here used the ANZO headlight and encounted the same problems as I? And what soulutions did you come up with to correct the electrical fit issue that I am having? Please help...Thank You one and all (^_^) |

Re: ANZO Projector Headlight Help (2004 Civic Si)
Well for those of you that have read this post...it seems I have found my own soulition to this problem.
According to ANZO's web site and their online catalog, headlight kit # 121057, is listed to fit Honda Civic Si (3 door) from 2002 to 2004 model years. The listing is in error. After attempting to install this headlight kit in my own Honda Civic 2004, I found several issues with the electrical fit. The 2002 – 2003 Civic Si, the headlight utilizes a single 9003 (or H4, high/low beam bulb) headlight bulb with a single electrical power lead to said bulb. However in the 2004 model year the headlight, though physically the same fit, uses 2 (two) power leads to accommodate a 9005 (high beam) and a 9006 (low beam) independent headlamp system. In addition, the 2002-2003 Civic Si, uses a larger diameter turn signal lamp socket (about 1.25" in diameter), as compared to the 2004 Civic Si that uses a lamp socket that is smaller (about 7/8" in diameter). I was originally going to make a retro fit wiring harness for the headlight power supply (which I was able to do thanks to suvlights.com) and was simply going to purchase a 2002 – 2003 Civic Si turn signal socket. Sadly that did not work out, because the 2002 – 2003 Civic Si wiring harness (at the socket) is different than the 2004 Civic Si (at the socket), this would require cutting and rewiring my OEM harness to make a fit (something that I am unwilling to do). Needless to say, I will be making a return of these headlight kits to ANZO, and I will be purchasing these headlights from an alternate manufacturer. If you own a 2004 Civic Si use CAUTION don't make the same mistake that I have. |
