Engine swap

I'm swapping engines in my '94 wagon. The 1.9L in the car has the EGR system. The supposed '95 motor I got from the salvage yard is not equipped with the EGR system. Will this cause me a problem in getting it to run right whenI put it in the car? Also, does anyone know how to decode the "engine ID code" on the timing belt cover for the year? This one is "2488 76965".
Thanks, RDS

Re: Engine swap

Try FEOA.net
Anyway, I'm inclined to think that all 1995 models would have the EGR and mayne the ones that don't would be older, but check FEOA as a better reference. My 1995 does have the EGR.
