ABS light/Trac Off light/Check Tire Press light

I have a 97 gp gt with 83k miles on it, replaced both front wheel bearings roughly 10k miles ago. Lately it seems whenever i hit a slight bump in the road i'm getting a low trac warning (seems to go off a lot more often than it used to, aka lights up when it would normally not light up) or it trips the abs/trac off/tire pressure light. If i restart the engine the lights go away until i hit another bump.

The brakes feel fine (no noticeable pulsation) and i'm not getting the grinding noise i was getting when the bearings needed replaced.

Is this a sensor issue, or is there a seperate bearing that needs replaced that i haven't replaced yet, or is 10k miles about all they last?

Chances are one or both bearings are bad again. Take the car to someone with an ABS capable scanner and have it scanned. It will tell you what is going on but I suspect you will find a bad sensor again.

Re: ABS light/Trac Off light/Check Tire Press light

When you replaced the hubs, did you buy brand name ones, or cheap generic China made ones? When it comes to ABS sensor equipped hubs, going cheap doesn't pay.

One other thing, did you do the work yourself or did a shop install them? If you or they used an impact wrench on the axle nut, or didn't torque the axle nut to spec with a hand torque wrench, that will lead to premature failure of the bearing/ABS sensor. The clamping force of pulling the CV axle through the bearing also pre-loads it and holds it together. Undertightening will cause the bearing to fall apart, overtightening will cause pre-mature wearout due to increased friction. The hammering action of an impact wrench can and normally will damage the ABS sensor.
