1996 Blazer LS 4.3L exhuast noise

My Blazer LS just started to make noise from the exhaust within the last 2 weeks, It is not coming fom the muffler, could it be a vibration from the cat converter? It seems like it vibrates
like a loose plate , it does it when it is cold and when I accelerate from a stop. this buzzy
vibrating noise is starting to really annoy me, any clues guys would be appreciated, you guys
helped me figure out the carbon canister problem , it is fixed, and I thank you blazee a million! the blazer has 150K miles on it, and still scoots along great..Let me know, thanks..

i had a 93 jimmy with the same problem. it ended up being the tailpipe hitting the gas tank.

My '95 did that. It was the insides of the cat breaking apart. It's like a ceramic honey comb and after miles of driving it comes loose and starts to break apart. My guess is you need a new cat. converter.

I see that you had an experience with the issue of the cat convertor. How much did it cost you for replacement? I am considering a used one because of the high miles. I have around 150K
on the truck..

Have a local muffler shop look at it.
They can test it out and also give you the replacement price.
Sometimes a heat shield will make a noise to.
On a used one it is illegal for a salvage yard to sell a repair shop one or may be illegal for a repair shop to install used one.
You would have to buy it yourself and put it on yourself.
At the scrap/salvage price of used cats a new one may be cheaper than used.
Some are selling 50-100$ usa for scrap.
If you replace your old keep the old one and sell for scrap.
Big bucks for/in scrap cats.
Just make sure the one you sell is yours.
Cat police are out there checking on who is selling them.
