Next up Henry J

next up a Henry J gasser (I know what that means now)

Haven't decided which one of these so I'll work them both up a tad and then decide.

I'll just post the sketch and the final this time. The steps is SOS and frankly boring so my goal is to finish by Next Friday a.m.

we'll see you cats then.

Re: Next up Henry J

Personally i like your top sketch. The stance that the car has looks cartoony but also believable and i think it suits better in my opinion.

Re: Next up Henry J

well...I got an email from Greg Tedder....yes, THAT Greg Tedder:

*******************************************

Hey there,

Nice to hear from you. I’m still walking the planet and taking up too much room but all in all I am doing ok. Loved the ‘55 truck and your puliminary sketches are always amazing and great for observing how you think things through. Don’t see much of that on the boards but I’m sure it’s got to be very helpful to the other up and coming artist. It’s one thing to see nice art but even better to see how the artist got there. By the way, I vote for the top sketch of the Henry J where you see a little more of the front wheel and stuff. Not the most popular car back then but I’m with you...sort of ugly but have become way cool now. Last time I was at the nostalgia drags there were a couple of Henrys but now days they are slamming to the ground and man, they look too cool plus they are way, way fast.

Going take a quickie break and play with my markers tonight. It’s where I have the most fun. I going to resurrect one of my oldies which was a T-bucket I did years ago for Andy’s Tee’s. My brain is Chevy dead for the moment.

Man, I sure would love to work with you on a project some time. If your still interested let me know. Here is the finished Old School design. Jeri did the computer separations for me. Can’t believe she pulled it off so good with such impaired vision.

Take care and keep up the terriffic art and that goes for your extra ordinary talented daughter as well.

Greg

So I'm going with the top one

Re: Next up Henry J

this is the rough between the sketch and the base rough (if I'm lucky).

I try to correct some stuff but not all of it. I really to to feel more here and worry about accuracy in the next stage. I don't show this one all the time but this is where the character comes from. The trick is to carry it forward without losing it.

fingers crossed

-Lemorris

p.s. sorry I forgot to not post...I'll bail till the end...promise

Re: Next up Henry J

unbelievable lems ,that looks so cool ,how long does it take you to knock one of these up on average ???

quick suggestion ? what would you think of some flames coming out the pipes or some "after " smoke ,think that would tie in well with the theme ??

again ,sensational stuff

Re: Next up Henry J

Wow, gone for a week and missed the whole process on this one.

It almost has a kind of Trosley look to my eyes--great work!
