do you have any tips to get better gas mileage?

99 Mustang GT 5speed
if I drive the car like a grandmom would I can get 300 miles to a tank.
I drive about 75 miles a day for work round trip and wanted to see how my car ranks with others and if there are any tips to help with gas economy?

I use the cruise control on the highway at 55 mph and rarely use the a/c.
I am thinking of trying the HHO gas install?

has anyone tried this and if so, results?

The MOST I have got out of one take of gas was 357miles, and when I filled up, I put in 15.32gallons, so I was pretty much bone dry when I rolled in the gas station.

I average about 280~330miles per tank, and my car has some mods. If you want to increase your gas miles, remove some weight, the stock seats are about 140 together, aftermarket is about half that weight.

That stock steel drive shaft weighs a bit, so replace it with an aluminum or carbon fiber one.

The Flywheel is stupid heavy, replace that with a aluminum one.

I'm also using a electric water pump, saves gas since your not using the engine to power the pump.

I also went with a MOtive Gear Ax Series production lightened Ford 8.8 Ring & Pinion, which is lighter in weight due to the beveled back side of the Ring. That however is actually installed in my wife's car because it's 3.73's.

Get a fiberglass hood, save some weight over the heavy stock hood.

Swap to coil overs all the way around, drop some weight.

Get a tubular K-member, again, weight loss.

That looks like a lot of money just to get better gas mileage.

Start by determining your actual Miles Per Gallon
not miles per tank.

Then try all the usual things to improve your MPG.
Follow the recommended maintenance, keep your tires properly inflated,
reduce weight, don't drive aggressively, use the highest gear possible, use cruise control — selectively,
think clean, avoid excessive idling, roll up the windows, combine your errands, ect.

Re: do you have any tips to get better gas mileage?

Don't use cruise control, that is a gas sucker....so I have heard

Draft when you can, its proven to increase milage by up to 30%

Coast to stop lights

Try not to use the brake pedal, any braking means less milage.

Slightly taller tires, ever inch taller is like dropping .15, so if you have 3.50 gears, they would go to a 3.35 roughly.

Drop weight like what was mentioned.

That is about it for now.
