tC vs Sentra SE-R

along my way to work this morning i ran into a previous gen black Sentra SE-R, i believe the Spec V trim. Def had I/E. He paced me and gave a little gas to see if i wanted to run, i followed suit. Run #1. A few lights down we went from a dead stop. Dude had like no traction, just wasnt hooking up at all. I was able to pull ahead maybe a car length or so. At around 40 he started to gain and i ended up about 1/2 car ahead. Run #2. A few streets down we hit another light. I didnt think he was gona go for it as we both took off normally, scary enough almost simultaneously we went WOT at around 15 or so. He got traction this time and steadily pulled on me, i shut it down at 75 with him up a car and a 1/2 this time. There is no better way to start your morning, screw Starbucks, a quick run is better than a double espresso shot

Re: tC vs Sentra SE-R

Nice run. I know what you mean. A while back on my way to school around 7:40am one of my friends subaru wrx's pulled up next to me on the road and gassed it. I pushed to and we went neck and neck till about 80 then slowed down cause we were entering our school zone. It was such a kicking way to start off the school day and kept me in good spirits for most of the day.

Great story

Running a rex from a roll is like racing a kid with asthma who forgot to use his inhaler.

Re: tC vs Sentra SE-R

yeah, the guy was running 13.2s if not better, so pretty much a stock STi. But even I can handle a stock WRX from a roll

What do you mean even I. Your sig says cobalt SS am i right, which in the one of the more recent top gear magazine releases was ranked 2nd in fastest fuel efficient cars. I love the cobalt SS doesn't it hit sixty in under 6 seconds stock?

Re: tC vs Sentra SE-R

they say 6.1, but im sure a damn good launcher could pull it off. I was hinting at my lack of driving skill in this case

And now that Stage two + 2.9 is on, I can find that COBB rex again for a rematch. Time to embarrass some STis and Evos (from a roll, of course)

Re: tC vs Sentra SE-R

stock wrx's can shoot up to 45 in no time at all, but then I believe C&D ran it from 45-80 and it took roughly 8 minutes

Thats a pretty slow SE-R. A good driver should be low fifteens in a SE-R Spec V.

Re: tC vs Sentra SE-R

When I was in highschool there was a mildly modded evo that everyone was afraid of. When he finally took it to the track he was running mid 14s all day. He obviously didnt know how to launch an awd car, as he bogged horribly during every run. A car can be bad-ass but can end up humorous in the hands of an unaware driver.

Agreed. From my experience though, its a very common low fifteen car, so I could understand if it was his first time out to the track, but from talking to a few Spec V owners, its a pretty easy to drive car. I was seriously looking at one back before I got the 325i...

Every one I race back with the 325i was always super close.
