1999 lumina turbo

I bought a 1999 lumina a few days ago. So far i love the car. It has decent power. I have noticed i can not find any turbo kits for the car. Yes i know its probly not the top choice to turbo but the sleeper factor of the car would be amazing. So i got togeather with a friend of my fathers. He told me that i could actually build a turbo system for it, but it will be alot of work. So i came here to see if you guys think it would be really worth it. I mean its a decent car. To be honest i think it would be fun to mess with the little ricers in my town with it .

My opinion, that engine, I assume it is a 3.1, will not stand up under any amt. of boost that would make reasonable horsepower gains.

Re: 1999 lumina turbo

How about doing a 3800 swap for the 3.1. That would be a sleeper right? I mean 95% of Lumina's have the 3.1L engine anyway.

Just a thought

Yes nice improvement I would just look to buy a 98-99 Lumina LTZ, better final drive and the 3800, mine is pretty fast, stock.

Well i bought the car for 500 bucks. The girl who drove it side swiped someone at a low speed. They wanted 1k for it but money talks so they took what they could get. Small dent nothing big is wrong with it. Im thinking 3800 would be sweet. Lol some civic the other day thought it was slow. He had the whole ricer setup on it. Just put it this way. Ive seen faster Geo metros. The lumina isnt the fastest car. But it puts the ricers in there place. Its just gonna be my car to get to work. I was just gonna try to squeeze out as much as i could .

LOL- my 95' 3.1 does that stock.. I dunno why, but it tries really hard to beat any car next to it. Maybe because it has a newer low miliage 96 grand prix engine in it? LOL

I burned a BMW X5 the other day coming out of a toll booth.. LOL. My AC quit working last year, so all the windows were down and I could hear that BMW trying to pass me.. She couldn't.
