2002 2.2 engine in a 2000 Cavalier?
I Need some help. My 2.2 engine in my 2000 Cavalier has packed it in. I Found a good used engine out of a 2002 Cavalier but am not sure if it is a straight swap. Does anyone know where I could find some info on this kind of swap or what problems I may encounter? Any help would be appreciated!

Re: 2002 2.2 engine in a 2000 Cavalier?
Well from what i know the Ecotecs are a little more stable than the older versions.
As far as problems, you might have to extend wires to sensors, you might need to change the mouts just a hair, you might even need to get new things under the hood. It's like any motor swap... always expect the unpredictable unexpected. haha Shit, I've seen a 3800 Series II supercharged engine in a cavi, so you know the newer 2.2 will fit. You just have to account for all locations of the same parts like I mentioned above. |

Are you talking about 2000 ohv 2.2 to 2002 ohv 2.2, or are you talking 2.2 ohv to 2.2 eco?

Yeah that's true. I assumed that the OHV was dumped off the cliff with the rest of their older motors. But one could still be lingering around, lol
