97 Projerctors On 95 Body

we installed 97 bumper and aftermarket projectors on 95 body eclipse.
problem i have is as follows:
OEM headlight wiring has ONE 3 prong plug, with black, red, and red/blue wires, then wiring goe sinto the headlight assembly and somehow feeds both driving light bulbs and highbeam bulbs.
projectors came with TWO two prong plugs, one black/red and one black/blue wires.
so, i spliced today both black wires to black on OEM plug, and red to red and red/blue to red on projectors.
right after assembly, in garage, it all worked just fine. picture perfect. then son drove to gym, comes back - highbeam light in the dash is on continuously and higbeam bulbs only glow, but don't do "highbeam". all other bulbs/lights appear to be working fine as of right now.
any suggestions? OEM wiring is hidden inside the headlight assembly, can't trace how it all splits from one plug to two different bulbs.
