Unhappy 1996 Blazer stuck in 4 lo

Hi everyone!!

Had a horrible thing happen yesterday ---- stopped at an ATM, put the truck in park, when finished I put it back in drive.....didnt want to go!!!! It was running ok previous to me stopping so Im confused by this point...

Looked on the dash and the 4 lo button was lit up. Put it in N and tried to push the button for 2hi.....NOTHING.....wont change back!!!!!!! I never use these buttons - always keep it in 2. Soooooo....my truck wont go more than 20 mph now!!! WTF??????
I just got this truck in April & the tranny only had about 80,000 miles on it (it was a replacement from a scrap yard) - the truck itself has 135,000 miles.

What could it be??????? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Re: 1996 Blazer stuck in 4 lo

Check the 4W fuse.
And check wiring to shift buttons and transfer case for being unplugged
Play with the shift buttons and back up and roll forward or put transmission in neutral and hope it will shift back to 2W.

If not you can ground pin 13 on diagnostic connector and watch shift button lights and get codes for transfer case.
Post back codes.
