02 monte ss check engine light

My check engine light came on about a week ago. I thought i had bas gas in it. I had purchased gas from this station once before ran the tank out then went to shell filled up and light went off. I have recently filled up today and hope it goes out. The car runs perfectly fine. Any ideas????

Could be something as simple as the gas station attendant not tightening your gas cap enough
