Rear Mud Gaurd Installation

I'm trying to install rear mud gaurds on 2001 ES. The upper 2 clips and bolts install well but the bottom bumper bolt does not line back up with the mud gaurd in place. Does anyone have any experience in installing these and what is going on? vehicle has NEVER been wrecked or bumper replaced. Why will the bottom not line back up?

Re: Rear Mud Gaurd Installation

Well folks, I'm going to answer my own question and maybe it will help someone else. It appears that the rear mud guards are designed for left and right hand drive vehicles. On the left hand drive (American) the bottom bolt goes to the inside of the flap and not to the outside recessed hole as would be thought. In other words, the bottom bolt is accessed from the tire to the inside of the flap. Once you get the two(2) tire well bolts installed you can insert the bottom bolt using a long phillips head screwdriver. Installing the bottom bolt is a little painstaking but the fit is nice. I hope this helps someone.
