Re: 2000 windstar mpg ?

In our '02 with the 3.8 were are getting 18 around town and 20-21 on the highway with it loaded down. But that was only after the intake insulator bolts were replaced. Prior to that is was like 16 around town and 18 highway.

Re: 2000 windstar mpg ?

Even after the isolator bolt repair I still only get about 20mpg in my '01. Luckily I only drive it around 6-8,000 miles a year.

Re: 2000 windstar mpg ?

On my 2001 i am getting 15-17 in the city and have had as high as 27 mph on the Hwy. But so far average hwy miles is 24-26. I did notice after my spark plug change my fuel mpg went down for a bit. Now starting to level off. I do run mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30. I know 5w-20 is recommended.. Sorry just to thin for me. If they get it any thinner we might be able to run some type of lubricated water in the future.. LOL

Re: 2000 windstar mpg ?

I have a 2000 Windstar that I generally got about 20 MPG on highway and 17-19 MPG mixed driving. I recently swapped in a 2003 engine and rebuilt the transmission and I'm getting around 21-22 MPG mixed but mostly WV highway. I haven't really been on a trip with it yet but we're doing a 400 miles this week for vacation. I'll keep an eye on it and report back.
