hard shiftin?
i have a 1985 s10 blazer 4x4 with the 2.8 and the tahoe package, bought it about 2 years ago. i can't figure out why it shifts so hard. ill be goin fine in first then once its ready to go into second it kicks hard. gets worse the harder I accelerate. i've also been getting around 10 mpg.
what could be the trouble?

Re: hard shiftin?
Check and adjust TV cable.
How is the fluid and filter? Any metal or grit in bottom of pan or filter. Also if tv cable and TV valve m not sticking check governor valves and weights and gear. Has anyone throwed in a shift kit? On a normal take off what are your upshift MPH. 1-2 2-3 3-4 and lockup?

Re: hard shiftin?
1-2=12mph 2-3=30 3-4=45 if you are talking about top speed for lockup then the answer is 84mph
no shift kit no grit or metal in the filter or pan and i use everthing lucas, which helped a little i don't have an answer yet for the throttle valve or governor valve, but ill try to asap |

Re: hard shiftin?
Check TV valve and cabel for sticking.
Should have pressure and a 2 stage pull on cabel

Re: hard shiftin?
Proper testing first.
May save rebuilding.
