Question Air Conditioning problem 2001 Crown Vic

I had my air conditioner recharged and now it's not giving me cold air. I have a 2001 Crown Vic, 40,000 miles. The bottom metal line coming off the firewall unit is cold up until the first coupling. Then the cold stops. I am really fustrated here. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm not a mechanic but it sounds like some kind of blockage. When in the shop after recharging, did they not check to see how well your air temp was?

Did it work properly when you left that shop? Did it work at all before charging?

Take it back to the shop who recharged it and ask them to fix it for you free.

It was warm before they charged it. I thought it was working. Taking it back in on Monday. I'll let you know what they find

Yes, it has to be the orifice tube, but how often does the compressor cycles?and if you go back to the mechanic and they don't fix it tell us what the pressure readings are and check ambient temrerature if you give me that information we can easily dagnose. I mean they should have done that when they recharge, and they should have seen that orificie tube or expansion valve wasn't working right anyway, your problem has to be fixed by a good mechanic, because they have to properly dispose of the refrigerant.
