Do I Really Need New Shocks???
If I was to lower my car only like an inch...would I really need everything new or could I just use the stock stuff and be ok? Like if I got TEIN's or Eibach...would I be ok just lowering my car a little and not doing anything with the stock parts? on a p11

Second, you can use the stock dampers, but I wouldn't. They will be way under damped for even modest lowering springs like Eibachs. They will likely give up the ghost a lot sooner as well.

So the TEIN's are springs and dampers...what are dampers?
So if I got the TEIN's...what else would I need to buy for my car? I heard that if you lower a car the ride becomes really stiff. But I was also told if you buy the coilovers and shocks and everything then you would have a lowered car but with a ride almost that of stock. Is that true? |

What most people think of as a stiff ride in a lowered car is the car bottoming due to springs that don't have a high enough weight to keep the car off the bumpstops. This can be combated by using short body dampers that retain the stock suspension travel (or at least have more travel). You cannot get a stock ride, but you can get pretty close. I am running 275# front and 200# rear springs with KYB AGX. It's a pretty good ride. I think with Konis I'd have a ride that is pretty near stock.

you can Tein springs alone...they're called TEIN S.Tech. You can get them with either a soft or medium spring rate, depending on how you drive. For stock parts i'd opt for the soft springs...they make them for P10's also.
