Price on a 240sx- silvia s15 conversion

A friend of mine is looking into getting a 95-96 240sx and he want to convert in into a s15 Silvia. Im talking body and engine swap. What do you all think the cost on this would be?

Yea this guy (your friend) sounds like a magazine junkie and saw the S15 and was like...COOL.

Tell him to get himself something else...he doesnt sound like he's interested in what the 240SX is really for...

:hehehe: i agree, its also a waste of money, the 240 is a great car without the whole conversion.

Anyone who says 240SX sucks w.out the swap or a "JDM Y0!" conversion is dumb.

Everyone today wants to be a "drifter". They dont realize the "hardcore" guys use a KA and build up theyre sus., brakes, tires etc. etc.

Instead of an S15 face, whynot get:

Suspension
Brakes
Exhaust
Tires(ESENTIAL FOR DRIFTING!)
LSD
New Seats and wheel(you'd be suprised how much it helps)

I bet for the price of a full S15 front, including paint etc. you can easily get all of the above items, with some spare change.

Not everyone who wants a sr20 and s15 front end is a SS reader and only wants it because of that. Im one of those people. I've loved Nissans since day 1.
But im different, the first time I saw a Silvia at a car show/races that i went to i fell in love. But when i saw how expensive it could get i was leaning towards the 300-tt until recently i decided screw it im going for the 240. But i also want to get into drift racing, and i wont do the conversion until i get the motor and do all the suspension and tuning first.

Just pointing out that not everyone's like that.

YES!!!Lets all do the S15 headlight conversion, drop in an s15 motor!!

While we're at it...
put a erebuni kit,50 inch big screen tv in the front bumper,10 30 inch subs and 50 amplifiers in the interior along with 30 tv's,5 in the gas cap,2 in the APC exhaust tip from pep boys,34 inch billion spoke rims, universal fender flares, some altezzas, lower the car till I cant drive it anymore,3 tvs in my stock airbox, scissor door kit, neon underbody kit, florescent greenmetallic with gold flakes,500 shot of NOS,white and baby blue interior, indiglo gauges, tenzo r seats,
and last but not least...
STICKERS OF PARTS WE DONT HAVE!!!

Maybe our cars will get into SUPERSTREET!

LMAO!

WHats worse is the new breed of "tuner" the JDM poser.

Yo I want an S14 w.S15 Front end but its gotta be Bomex or CWEST cuz its JDM Y0!, and I'm getting a stock turbo, but my daddys buying me an FMIC, boost up, exhuast, electronics, Teins, a Bomex Wing and RO_JA wheels!

Now I'm gonna go drift on public roads and crash and die, but thats ok cause when the cops clamp down on drifters, I'll get daddy to buy me a new car amde for show!

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Its because its exclusive and it sets you apart from the crowd of APC and pep Boys.

Now though, EVRYONE is becoming "JDM", thereby defeating the purpose.

The 1st time I saw JDM was a guy w. a Civic(ya, ya ya) but he had the JDM SiRII badging, the actual wheel covers, and the interior and paint. This was like '95 or '96 and I was floored. Outside of seeing them in my JDM brochure, I'd never thought someone else knew of it.

Thats what made JDM sepcial. Having something exclusive that only a few people know of.

yeah, the idea of putting JDM parts on your car to be unique has pretty much gone down the shitter. now, if you want to be unique and exclusive, you need to fork out 7 grand for a veilside body kit.:finger4:

I'd rather spend the money on my engine and then when I go flying by the guy who wanted to be unique and get some jdm wheels, body kit, or whatever... then we'll see how much that jdm stuff matters :coolguy:
