Code 41? on a 91 PA

so i got the dreaded service engine soon light come on. grounded the aldl and after the code 12 flashing i got the following readout: 4 flashes, pause, 1 flash repeated 3 times then it goes back to code 12. so i guess that would indicate code 41 correct? and if so, what would be the most likely cause? faulty camshaft sensor?

Re: Code 41? on a 91 PA

Code 41 can be the cam sensor (CPS) crank position sensor (CKPS), or the magnet in the cam gear damaged or missing.

Yeah, its hard to find info about replacing the magnet. I just fixed that very error on my car. Magnet had broke free from its plastic housing. Its held in very loosely for something thats subjected too so much spinning. I did the method of JB welding a new one in place and it worked great.
